Laurie is married to the love of her life, Tom. She waited a looooong time to get married because she wanted to find a special, extraordinary guy. It was worth the wait. Now they celebrate life with each other by hiking and biking the hills around the San Francisco Bay Area. Laurie is also the daughter and granddaughter of gardening mavens. Although she originally dismissed gardening as hot, sweaty, dirty work, she has seen the light and now is a self-confessed gardening fanatic.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Laurie has lived in the SF Bay Area for fourteen years where she worked in advertising and marketing (with a three year stint in Australia from 1987-1990). She went to the University of Wisconsin at Madison on a swimming scholarship and received a B.A. in Journalism.
